Alfons had a few things to say on the Qatar meet, and for the track geek, they will get you thinking! Also note that Barack Obama visited Hayward Field during the Oregon Track Classic! All presidential candidates should visit major track meets, in my mind!

GIBILISCO OK
MILANO (ITA): Pole Vault 2003 world champion and Italian record holder Giuseppe Gibilisco (590 cm) is now free to compete. Agencies are reporting. His two years doping ban was overturned by Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS). So far it was confirmed by the athlete. To qualify for Beijing he needs to jump 570 cm. Last July he achieved 570 at Tsiklitiria Meet of Athens. „570 should not be a problem,” he was quoted by Italian federation website. He was accused of being implicated in an Italian police doping probe, which began in 2004. Gibilisco was initially banned last July by the Italian Athletics Federation (FIDAL) after a request from the country’s anti-doping prosecutor. He never had a positive doping test.
