GIBILISCO OK
MILANO (ITA): Pole Vault 2003 world champion and Italian record holder Giuseppe Gibilisco (590 cm) is now free to compete. Agencies are reporting. His two years doping ban was overturned by Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS). So far it was confirmed by the athlete. To qualify for Beijing he needs to jump 570 cm. Last July he achieved 570 at Tsiklitiria Meet of Athens. „570 should not be a problem,” he was quoted by Italian federation website. He was accused of being implicated in an Italian police doping probe, which began in 2004. Gibilisco was initially banned last July by the Italian Athletics Federation (FIDAL) after a request from the country’s anti-doping prosecutor. He never had a positive doping test.

Allyson Felix: She is the 8th woman in the history having sub 11 at 100 m, sub 22 at 200 m and sub 50 at 400 m. The big names who achieved this before are: Marita Koch, Gwen Torrence, Irina Privalova, Valerie Brisco-Hooks, Marie-Jose Perec, Barbel Wockel and Marion Jones.
Randy Lewis: His best legal mark in the triple jump was 17.07 (+0.7).
Augustine Choge: Sprinted to 3000 m victory with one shoe after collision.
Jaisuma Saidy Ndure: With his 10.01 national record is now 7th best all-time European sprinter with legendary Italian Pietro Mennea who achieved 10.01 back in 1979.
David Oliver: Clocked 33rd ever legal sub 13 and is the 12th performer of all time with 12 at the begin. At his blog he has the title: 12.87 Your mission. Now he is much closer. The biggest number of sub 13 by Allen Johnson 11 followed by Liu Xiang and Colin Jackson with 5, Roger Kingdom 3 and Terrence Trammell 2. The rest of seven hurdlers once (Arnold, Robles, Nehemiah, Pierce, Doucoure, Crear, Oliver).
David Rudisha: His 800 m winning streak is at number 13 (finals only) for the moment since last year Doha. His next race a 400 m in Belgrade on May 29.
RESULTS FROM FRIDAY
EUGENE (USA): Presidential candidate Barack Obama made a visit to Hayward Field during Oregon Twilight meet. More than 5000 spectators saw great improvement of Kenyan Boaz Lalang at 800 m as he clocked 1:45.15 (his previous PB was 1:46.87). Andrew Wheating broke 3:40 at 1500 m with 3:38.60 and Lauren Fleshman registered 4:11.66 in the women race. Hammer thrower A.G. Kruger achieved A-Olympic qualifier and career-second best mark 78.68 m.
ATHENS (USA): 28 years old javelin thrower Leigh Smith is the next US with A-Olympic qualifier. At Georgia Invitational he improved to excellent PR 83.74 m (and had also 82.72 and 80.37 in the series). USA is now having with Smith and Mike Hazle who improved on Friday in Doha to over 82 two A-Olympic qualifiers and waiting for season debut of record holder Breaux Greer. Former world champion Avard Moncur of Bahamas won here the 400 m in 47.17. His countrymate Osbourne Moxey achieved 791 (+1.2) in Long Jump. Jamaican Julien Dunkley clocked good 10.21 (+2.0) at 100 m and African record holder at 400 m Gary Kikaya started his season with being second at 200 m (20.82, 0.0). He was beaten by improved Ricardo Lockett by 0.005 as he was also credited by 20.82 (20.814-20.819).
CARACAS (VEN): During second day of Iriarte Memorial, part of South American Grand Prix circuit the young Jamal Bowen of Panama again improved in Long Jump. He bettered his own South American Youth record to 789 (+0.8) and is confirming his talent. He ended second behind Cuban Hector Fuentes (791, +1.4). Another Cuban world medalist Victor Moya won the High Jump (220) with home Albert Bravo also having 220.
BONNEUIL (FRA): Hurdler Reina-Flor Okori showed good shape at international meet in France with 13.06 (0.0) at 100 m Hurdles. US Chris Thomas won the male hurdles after 13.60 (-0.1) beating French European Junior Champion 2005 Garfield Darien who improved to 13.64.
AUSTIN (USA): 18 years old Victoria Jordan sped to great 11.16 (+1.2) at 100 m during Texas HS meet. For the winner of different important HS meets in the past huge improvement from 11.36 last year. With that time she is the junior world leader and a gold medal favorite for World Junior Championships in Bydgoszcz in July. Last year no female junior clocked sub 11.20 in the world. US High School record is 11.11. by Angela Williams from 1998.
