HOKA ONE ONE has been one of the very few brands that have realized that the combination of old school and new school approaches to building a brand are key in the development. The founders of the brand, and the early adaptors at Deckers supported grass roots events, from multi events to road races, to high school cross country. With consistently fine product, HOKA ONE ONE is proving once again that big hearts, big lungs, big products, and big dreams are key for small brands to grow.
Somehow, many established brands forget that runners are creatures of comfort, and that communications and product are key.

@SuperDavidJewell
Once again, running shoe industry expert David Jewell worked the sidelines at the Ironman World Championship to collect data on what running shoes were being used in Kona. Hoka One One took the 2016 top spot away from industry giant Asics by a whopping number of percentage points.
Upstart Hoka is a relatively new brand against the likes of Asics, Nike and a number of obvious names in the shoe world. Other relative newcomers to the market also had a good day. On went from 4.0% to 6.9% and Salming went from less than .1% to a 1.3% total share.
