Lasitskene about her goals
MOSCOW (RUS): World high jump champion Mariya Lasitskene has played down her chances of winning the female IAAF Athlete of the Year award next month, informs Athletics Weekly. “Honestly, I don’t believe that I will be even in the top three. It’s so subjective, you know what I mean? Somebody loves jumps, somebody else loves running. Somebody prefers blondes, somebody prefers brunettes. Too many ‘somebody.’ If you look at the world rankings, for example, at all-athletics.com, you’ll see that right now I’m in the first position and I have more points than the best male athlete. It shows that I was consistent for the whole season,” she said. Lasitskene has outlined her main goals next year are the World Indoor Championships and European Championships. She also wants to improve her personal best in the coming year. In 2017 she was unbeaten.
