DOHA (QAT, May 6): Olympic and World winner Anita Wlodarczyk started into the season on a high note with a 31st win a row since 2014. She won a special hammer throw in Qatar Sports Club with World leading 79.73 what is also her best ever season opener. In her series she also had another 79+ throw: 76.46-f-79.73-f-79.06-77.32. It is also sixth best result ever and Wlodarczyk now has all top ten. Second Azerbaijan´s European medalist Hanna Skydan 73.07 ahead of Czech record holder Katerina Safrankova 68.23. Universiade medalist Pavel Bareisha of Belarus won the men competition with his second best ever 78.04. Clearly behind Olympic winner 2012 Krisztian Pars 75.51 and third Qatar´s record holder Ashraf Amjad Al-Seifi 75.25.
RunBlogRun opines: I was one of the 50 people there to watch the hammer throws. A fun competition, none the less, it was less than old school. I am glad that there was a hammer competition, but just wish more could have seen it.
