Carey Pinkowski has experienced the sport from all perspectives. In the 1970s, Carey, Rudy Chapa and Tim Keogh were among the finest high school runners the country produced, all breaking nine minutes for two miles. They trained in a small park in Gary, Indiana. From there, it was Villanova, and a collegiate running career. For 27 of the last 29 years, Carey Pinkowski has been the executive director of the Bank of America Chicago Marathon. This interview was done on October 6, 2016 by RunBlogRun’s Larry Eder, and produced by the Shoe Addicts, the digital partners of RunBlogRun.
