If you want to run a Turkey Trot today, then do it!
It you need a workout for a race on Saturday, may we suggest the following;
Warm-up,
30 minutes of moderate running, 8 x 300m hill, jog down, 20 minutes of moderate running, 8 x 250m hill, jog down, 8 x 200m hill, 15 minutes running to easy cooldown.
One of my favorite Thanksgiving memories is way back in the 1980s.
Thanksgiving 1983, in fact.
Tim Gruber, my neighbor and training partner, and Danny Grimes, a good friend from high school, and Tim’s college teammate, ran 18 miles together through Los Altos, Mountain View, and Cupertino on Thanksgiving morning. Tim had two Thanksgiving dinners to prepare for, and so did I. Loved our run, as the flew along near a six-minute-per-mile pace, as Tim and Danny were chatting away, and I was gasping out a word or two.
A fun run, but more than anything, a wonderful time with two wonderful people.
Great memories, followed by two turkey dinners.
Extraordinary.
