GAINESVILLE (USA, Apr 24): Fast sprints at Tom Jones Memorial Classic. Bahamian super talent Shaunae Miller won the 400 m in excellent PB and World lead 50.17. In the 100 m Keston Bledman also World lead 10.01 (+1.5) ahead of Marvin Bracy 10.11. In second race Olympic medalist Walter Dix 10.17 (+1.2) over Briton´s James Ellington 10.20 and Sean Safo-Antwi 10.32. In third heat Ronnie Baker 10.11 PB (+1.0). Trinidad´s Kelly-Ann Baptiste clocked sub 11 in the 100 m with 10.98 (+0.2) over Shalonda Solomon 11.06 and Simone Facey 11.15. European champion Dafne Schippers of Netherlands was the best in the 200 m with 22.63 over Tiffany Townsend 22.89. Fast also Kendra Harrison over the hurdles, 12.62 (+0.9) is her new personal best. Second Bridgette Owens 12.87. In second head Evonne Britton 13.21 (+1.0) over Dafne Schippers 13.28, her first hurdles since May 2014. Leah Nugent won another race in 13.11 (+1.2) and also the 400 m hurdles 56.46. British Lorraine Ugen leaped to 672 (+1.8) in the long jump, close to her PB of 677. In the relays Florida won in 43.14 and 3:28.08 World lead. Second Kentucky 43.69 over Italy 44.11 in shorter relay and Great Britain 3:28.39 in longer. On the men side to add Churandy Martina winning the 200 m in 20.69 (-0.9) over British duo Danny Talbot 20.74 and James Ellington 20.79. In the 400 m great PB for Najee Glass 44.79 over David Verburg 44.98, they were followed by Borlee twins Kevin 45.48 and Jonathan 45.82. Fifth sprinter Dedric Dukes 45.83. In another race Liemarvin Bonevacia running for Netherlands 45.40. Korean Kim Byoung-jun won the hurdles in 13.53 (+0.9) over French Garfield Darien 13.55. Irish 400 m hurdles record holder Thomas Barr won his event in 49.08 over Eric Futch 49.45 PB, Briton Jack Green 49.55 (his first sub 50 since London 2012 Games) and German Silvio Schirrmeister 50.06. Stipe Zunic of Croatia achieved 20.38 in shot put. Netherlands topped 4×100 m in 39.23 ahead of Florida 39.44 and Italy 39.61. In the 4×400 m Florida 3:02.43 over Belgium 3:02.74.
