Long runs are part of our weekly program.
Your long runs in high school should be 65-90 minutes. Keep the pace moderate, and over the last 20-30 minutes, pick up the pace for ten minutes, then slow down over the last ten minutes.
Warm up, run for 75-90 minutes, and then cool down.
Long runs are one of the key workouts. Frosh/Soph should go no longer than 65-75 minutes. Juniors/Seniors should be able to build up to 75-90 minutes.
Remember, Junior/Seniors should consider 30-minute runs in Monday, Wednesday and Friday. The pace in those runs is quite easy.
