This is my daily chat with
#RunBlogRun viewers and track fans on all things track & field!
This is Coffee with Larry, for Wednesday, July 5, 2023.
I am in SFO International, waiting for the flight to Eugene, UA 571, which is delayed two hours.
1. US Champs will be happening July 6-9, 2023.
2. One of reasons why NBC may not be featuring USATF Champs on terrestrial network is the schedule, dictated by World Athletics.
3. Michael Johnson noted that NBC is not seeing the metrics on the track and field coverage.
4. I have asked USATF and have not had any comments.
5. Mixed zone, which worked well in NYC, is being held in Eugene, with no proper presser, not sure why they do not have both.
6. Lots of athletes, fans, complaining about Eugene, not sure Tracktown’s response. Suspect ticket sales have been challenging, as offered 4 tickets for $99 for family and $25 for each other family member. Great idea!
7. The USATF Champs, July 6-9 should be exciting, and you can watch on Peacock, CNBC and usatf.tv.
8. Enjoyed my travel today, Milwaukee to Chicago, Chicago to SFo, now delayed SFO to Eugene.
9. I enjoy Eugene, Oregon, two or three times a year, but other cities need to share in the track and field aura.
