The ARD TV two part feature has shaken up the sport, not only in Russia, but, also in Monaco and Lucerne. Russian Federation wants to find someone to sue for hurting their reputation. IAAF admits that investigation has begun, and IOC is also threatening to act.

MOSCOW (RUS): The Russian Athletics Federation have said that the documentary on doping in Russia aired on German TV channel ARD, is a provocation aimed at undermining Russian sport. In their release they claimed that the statements made by five athletes, who have doping convictions, cannot be trusted as they would have a significant bias against the federation and RUSADA. They maintain that the federation has “led a fierce and uncompromising fight against doping in sport, and intends to do so in the future.” They also revealed that they are considering taking legal action against the people involved in the documentary.

MOSCOW (RUS): RUSADA have released a statement confirming that they will launch their own investigation into the allegations made in the German documentary on doping in Russian sport. They stated that the results of this investigation will be published on the RUSADA website.

MONACO (MON): IOC President Thomas Bach has said that the IOC is prepared to take action against any Russian Olympic athletes or officials involved in doping if allegations of systematic cheating and corruption in the country are proven to be true, inform AP. Bach met with WADA President Craig Reedie to discuss the allegations of Russian doping made by German television channel ARD. Reedie said that WADA have turned over its own information on Russia to the IAAF panel that is investigating the case.
