Radcliffe one more marathon
ITEN (KEN): Women’s marathon World record holder Paula Radcliffe will not force a comeback but is still hoping to compete in one final marathon or half marathon, reports supersport.com. After returning to training, post-surgery, in April 2013 she has slow built up her training to one run a day of an hour to two hours of duration. Considering a return to competition, the 40 year old said “I don’t want to push it, “I want to have the gift of being able to go out for a run every day when I want to run. So I don’t want to jeopardise that but if I can come back and run one more marathon or even a half marathon I will be very happy because I can finish on my terms.” She spoke of her disappointment that she was unable to try and lower her World record as injuries and illness thwarted her efforts to reach the starting line completely healthy. While she acknowledges that the current crops of women marathoners are strong, she says “I would like the world record to stand a little bit longer.”
