VS POWELL FOR 12TH TIME, BUT FIRST IN OSLO
OSLO(NOR):
One of the most traditional one day meet in the world, the Bislett Games of
Oslo, will be on Thursday seen mainly as 100 m clash of Usain Bolt with Asafa
Powell. It will be the last event in the programme. World athlete of the year
2011 Sally Pearson is opening her European hurdles campaign. Local fans will

(FRA): With a month to go until the 2012 edition, the MEETING AREVA is
taking shape. Indeed the Ile de France meeting, which forms the seventh stage
of the Samsung Diamond League, is this year benefiting from a very
favourable position in the international event schedule. Due to take place on
Friday 6 July, it falls just three weeks before the start of the Olympic Games
in London. Men s 800 m will see world record holder David Rudisha running
against world indoor champion and his last time beater in autumn 2011 Moroccan
Mohamed Aman. In the 5000 m old timers Kenenisa Bekele and Bernard Lagat are
the star names, but will it be enough to win here? Something special for local
spectators will be men´s steeple. Number one so far Paul Kipsiele Koech will
try for a fast time and also both home stars Mahiedine Mekhissi-Benabbad and Bouabdellah

TRIALS
KINGSTON
(JAM): Jamaican Olympic Trials and National Championships published its
time-table. The most watched event men 100 m will have first round on June 28
at 10 am and 2nd round the same day in the evening at 7.15 pm. On June 29
semifinals will be held at 7.25 pm and finals at 9.25 pm. For doublers the 200
m first round will follow next morning at 9 am and semifinals at 8.35 pm.
Finals will be held on Sunday July 1 at 7.30 pm.

(CAN): In its ongoing efforts to grow the sport of track and field outside
traditional avenues, Athletics Canada confirmed that athletes will have the
opportunity to feature their Twitter handles on the upcoming Canadian Track and
Field Trials’ race bibs. “We need to continue to find new and innovative ways
to promote our sport and our athletes,” said Mathieu GentÄs, Athletics Canada
Director of Public Relations and Corporate Services.
