The 2021 European Indoor Championships will be held March 4-7, 2021. They will be held in Torun, Poland. The 200m Mondo track was used in Sopot, Poland at the 2014 WIC. We thank EME News on the upcoming championships.

BIRMINGHAM (GBR): World 800m No.1 Elliot Giles has withdrawn from Britain’s team for the European Indoors to concentrate on the Olympics. Meanwhile, six athletes have been added to the squad: Emily Borthwick, Joel Khan, Morgan Lake, Charlie Myers, Jazmin Sawyers and Amelia Strickler. It brings the size of the team to 46.
BERLIN (GER): World long jump champion Malaika Mihambo leads Germany’s team of 50 for the European Indoors. World shot bronze medallist Christina Schwantiz, European 60m No.1 Kevin Kranz, European high jump champion Mateusz Przybylko and 2017 world decathlon fourth-placer Kai Kazmirek are also on the team. European steeplechase champion Gesa Krause goes over 1500m.
MINSK (BLR): Belarus is sending 22 athletes to Torun. Attacking podium will be hurdler Elvira Herman, high jumpers Maksim Nedasekau and Karina Demidik along with pole vaulter Iryna Zhuk. Also in long jump Anastasiya Mironchik-Ivanova and Violetta Skvartsova in triple jump. Heptathlon surprise could be Maksim Andraloit.
ISTANBUL (TUR): Turkey will have 13 athletes at European Indoors. Only two women are triple jumper Tugba Danismaz and shot putter Emel Dereli. In men team pole vault record holder Ersu Sasma, also three athletes in both men 60 m and 400 m.
MADRID (ESP): Big Spanish team for European Indoor championships consists from 37 athletes (19 men and 18 women). The headliners are title defenders, Alvaro de Arriba (800 m), Jorge Urena (heptathlon) and Ana Peleteiro (triple jump). Also to mention 3000 m list leader Mohamed Katir. Top talent Maria Vicente is in pentathlon. Strong team also in men´s 400 m headed by Oscar Husillos. Not included was the top woman in the 3000 m based on time Carolina Robles (8:59.93) as she was only fourth at recent national indoor championships.
BUCURESTI (ROU): Romania will be represented by 15 athletes, 9 women and 6 men at the European Championships in Torun. Top names are 400 m runner Andrea Miklos with long jumper Alina Rotaru. On the men side also long jumper Gabriel Bitan.
PARIS (FRA): France will have 25 athletes in Torun. They are 19 men and 6 women. World record holder Kevin Mayer is the star for heptathlon, the same Renaud Lavillenie in pole vault and another top favorite is hurdler Wilhelm Belocian. Strong trios of athletes in running events for men – in 800 m Bosse, Khatir and Robert, in the 1500 m Denissel, Habz and Mischler and in the 3000 m Bedrani, Gressier and Hay.
SOFIA (BUL): Bulgaria will be represented by 7 athletes, only one female is sprinter Inna Eftimova. Six men part main name is high jumper Tikhomir Ivanov.
LJUBLJANA (SLO): Slovenian federation got confirmation from EA about participation of three athletes without standard. Lia Apostolovski in high jump and triple jumpers Neja Filipic and Jan Luxa. Main hopes are pole vaulter Tina Sutej and runners Marusa Mismas Zrimsek with Klara Lukan.
BRATISLAVA (SVK): From Slovak two requests without standard accepted was European indoor 2015 finalist Iveta Putalova in the 400 m, no green light for young Liza Hazuchova in the 3000 m.
