The picture above is of Jordan Hasay, biding her time, in the second pack at the Foot Locker finals in 2008, before she blasted away to become only the second high school girl to win two Foot Locker nationals. Capping off her senior cross country season with her fourth Foot Locker XC West Regional titles, her fourth state title, Jordan Hasay was also picked as the Gatorade 2008-09 Cross Country Girl Athlete of the Year.
With one season left at Mission Prep for Jordan, her senior track season, and the official window opening on Thursday for athletes to declare their colleges, Jordan Hasay announced her intentions today. But, which would it be?

In a copyrighted story in the San Luis Obispo, California http://www.sanluisobispo.com/183/story/609360.htmlwebsite, sanluisobispo.com, Jordan Hasay has made her choice known as to where she will go for college. After having considered Arizona, Stanford, Arizona State, Oregon, Hasay announced this afternoon that she would be a Duck next Fall, and the University of Oregon will be her school!
Jordan Hasay is one of the most respected prep women middle distance runners in U.S. History. Possessed with a great heart, tireless legs, tremendous energy, plus support from her coach, family and friends, Hasay continues to astound.
Last July, Jordan Hasay broke the prep 1,500 meter record while moving through the women’s 1,500 rounds, to the delight of the 22,000 track fans in Hayward Field! Less than three days after that, Jordan was off to Poland to race the World Juniors, where she placed fourth in the 1,500 meters!
Over the last three years, as Jordan has matured from a very good runner, to one of the best juniors in the world, she has had her family and the thoughtful eye of one Armando Siqueros. Armando is one of the genuinely nice humans on this planet, he is also a keen observer not only of Jordan, but of the sport. Armando once told me that his goal for Jordan was to present her with different competitive challenges. He had accomplished that last summer. His lessons will continue to be a part of her racing.
Jordan has had great races and some tough races. What is fascinating to behold is that Ms. Hasay dusts herself off, gets up and trains and races once again, each time, achieving a different goal, a different level. Congrats to her coach, her supporters and to Jordan, for being thoughtful enough to listen to her coach and to look inside herself and see what she can accomplish.
At the University of Oregon, Jordan will be under the watchful eye of one Vinn Lannana. Vinn knows what it takes to develop elite middle distance runners, both men and women, and Jordan, with some luck, and good health, should be ready to excel in London 2012

Congratulations to Jordan Hasay, the University of Oregon, and her family. On a selfish note, it will be fun to see her running in Eugene next year!
