The amazing beauty with a throw like the 97.76m done by Johannes Vetter should not be underestimated. But, what is interesting, in my mind on Uwe Hohn’s comments is that someone who has made a big throw. So, a comment by the only man who has gone 100 plus meters with a javelin. In 1984, Uwe Hohn went 104.80m (343’9.75″), and the javelin was changed in 1986.
Vetter has just gone 97.76m, he’s only behind Jan Zelezny’s 98.48m (1996).
I like Johannes Vetter. I like all the German javelin throwers that I have met. They take the esoteric event and give it life. This huge throw was important for the sport.
NEW DELHI (IND): Former javelin World record holder Uwe Hohn, now India’s chief javelin coach, is impressed with Johannes Vetter’s remarkable achievement. While watching his throwing technique will no doubt be threadbared at the national camp. “Yeah, because it’s connected to his technique. Vetter showed that it is not only about throwing hard but it is important to put energy into the javelin so it stays stable.
