Almaz vs Genzebe
ROME (ITA): Almaz Ayana and Genzebe Dibaba are set to go head-to-head over 5000m in the Golden Gala Pietro Mennea on 8 June, informs organisers. Last year, Ayana won the 5000m in the Italian capital with 14:12.59, the second-fastest time in history. Olympic champion Faith Kipyegon is also confirmed for the 1500m where she will face top Europeans Sifan Hassan and Laura Muir while Olympic javelin champion Thomas Rohler faces a line-up including world champion Julius Yego and 2012 Olympic champion Keshorn Walcott. World 200m champion Dafne Schippers is confirmed for the 100m, world champion Sergey Shubenkov goes head-to-head with world record-holder Aries Merritt in the 110m hurdles while Justin Gatlin and Andre de Grasse are confirmed for the 100m and 200m respectively. Another highlight will be the women’s high jump with Ruth Beitia, Mariya Lasitskene, Blanka Vlasic, Chaunte Lowe, Airine Palsyte and Alessia Trost all in action.
RunBlogRun opines: In AREVA Paris 2015, Dibaba sat on Ayana and broke her in the 5000m. Ayana soon learned from that experience and bashed Dibaba in Beijing 2015. What will see in Rome 2017?
