Sifan Hassan will not defend title at 2017 European Indoors

PORTLAND (USA): Dutch Sifan Hassan won’t defend her 1500m title at the European Indoor Championships in Belgrade, informs NOS. Hassan will race over 3000m in Boston on Saturday and over the same distance at the Millrose Games on 11 February before concluding her indoor campaign.

RunBlogRun opines: Sifan Hassan wanted to change her approach, so she is training under Albert Salazar and Pete Julian at Nike Oregon Project. For Sifan, the World Outdoors are the focus for 2017. The European Indoors are a fantastic event ( I went in 2015), but athletes have to focus, they can not do everything.
