The 2000 and 2004 Olympic Trials were two of my favorite events, period. Great competitions, great fans, great venues, and terrific performances.
INDIANAPOLIS (USA): USATF has officially announced that the 2014 USA Outdoor Track and Field Championships will be held in Sacramento on June 26-29. USATF CEO Max Siegel said “Sacramento has a tremendous track & field culture and we are very pleased to be returning in 2014. “The fan support in the region is fantastic, and the weather conditions serve sprinters, field event athletes and distance runners alike. We look forward to another successful partnership with the Sacramento Sports Commission.” The Sacramento Sports Commission will serve as the local organising committee for the championships. Sacramento has previously hosted the USA Olympic Trials in 2000 and 2004, and the NCAA Track and Field Championships in 2003, 2005, 2006 and 2007.
